The Profile Explained
Their Profile in the Memories Register is where we display all the information we hold on a particular person, ‘the subject.’ It is made up principally of entries submitted by you, ‘the customer’ with further material – Appreciations – received from third parties and entries adjusted between you, the customer, and Milestones. Visitors to the site are directed to the Profile on consulting the index to the Register.
It is in their Profiles that loved ones are appreciated and remembered whether they were larger than life or unassuming souls. There too the lives of forebears may be recorderd and celebrated. And it is in their Profiles that those rightly held in high regard in their time but now feared forgotten may be called back to mind.
Opening with the Brief Profile created from information submitted by you, the customer, to registrations@milestonesscotland.co.uk it is enhanced with tributes in the form of eulogies, obituaries and appreciations. You may wish to to add the Death Notice, abstracts from the Order of Service, a timeline with photographs, an Acknowledgement. The terms of the customised Invitation and Postscript can add appreciably to the eventual value of any Profile for future research. At the end on the ENHANCE title in the main menu you’ll find the Enhancing the Profile form, used for all additional entries after registration
It is through the display of accurate, quality material in Profiles that we will build up Milestones reputation as a unique resource for family and general research in Scotland.
