What You Will Require
This page explains what you will require to have at hand when you come use the Enhance the Profile form to add material to the Brief Profile you registered, whether Tribute, Notice or Agreed Content.
Before you set out you might find it useful to read the following Profiles in Milestones Memories Register:
Garnet Maclennan is an example of a vibrant eulogy.
See Mora Munro for an example of a shorter obituary, ‘a life unsung.’
James IM MacGillivray, ‘remarkable but unremarked,’ of a longer one.
The Profile of Reginald WD Gibertson shows a death notice and how a timeline can be usefully integrated with an obituary.
The usefulness of the timeline in a shorter obituary can be seen in Mora Munro which also carries an Acknowledgement.
For a Death Notice. See Reginald WD Gilbertson.
The Unique Milestones Registration, your subject’s UMR, is you passport.* Have it ready. It is in the heading to the email you received from us confirming that the Brief Profile was now displayed. We can readily resend that email if you cannot locate it. Apply to Registrations.
The Enhance the Profile form will also ask you, as customer, for:
- the timeline, if, as we recommend, you have prepared one
- a photograph or photographs for the timeline
- the texts of the tribute you wish to see in the Profile, be it eulogy, obituary or both
- any Notice you want to see displayed; and
- your suggestions for the content of your customised Invitation and any Postscript.
* The Enhance the Profile form may be used by anybody to submit an Appreciation. If you wish to send in an Appreciation you will not be expected to know, or to try to ascertain, the UMR which is confidential to our customer.
Examples of Appreciations can be found in the Profiles of Reginald WD Gilbertson and Alexander Smeaton. Bear in mind the joint right of editorial control mentioned in Tributes Explained.
